Parameter identification and generality analysis of photovoltaic module dual-diode model based on artificial hummingbird algorithm
This paper uses existing parameter extraction methods and the latest metaheuristic algorithms to solve the problem of the nonlinearity, multivariable and multimode of photovoltaic cell dual diode model parameters. Seventeen algorithms are compared against experimental data for predicting cell parameters.
Solar thermoelectric generator and thermoelectric cooler performance: analysis and comparison using a different shape geometry
The influence of geometry on the performance of solar thermoelectric generators and thermoelectric coolers is investigated using finite element analysis. The effective heat flow area varies depending on the chosen geometry, thus impacting the heat flux due to the variation in thermal resistance.
Techno-economic analysis of a hybrid renewable energy system integrated with productive activities in an underdeveloped rural region of eastern Indonesia
An economically feasible hybrid renewable energy system based on solar and wind energy is designed for an Indonesian village that currently has low access to electricity. Conceptual schemes are developed to meet the demand for electricity from the residential, community, commercial and productive sectors of the village.

A pragmatic retrofitting approach to enhancing the thermal, energy and economic performance of an educational building: a case study in Malaysia
A holistic energy audit is conducted for a university building in Malaysia to diagnose energy efficiency deficiencies, identify areas of energy waste and propose practical retrofit measures. Individual measures identified can achieve annual energy reductions ranging from 2% to 18%, with a cumulative impact of 41% reduction.
Design optimization of a grid-tied microgrid for a residential community in southern Bangladesh
The architecture and techno-economic assessment of a grid-tied hybrid microgrid for Urir Char, in southern Bangladesh, is analysed. A predictive load-shifting-based demand management scheme is also introduced. A system comprising a PV array, wind turbine and energy storage system is found to be the best fit.
Comparison of mixed-mode forced-convection solar dryer with and without stainless wire mesh in solar collector
Heat transfer in a mixed-mode forced-convection solar dryer is improved by adjusting the air flow pattern to disturb the thermal boundary layer on the absorber plate under forced convection. Experiments are conducted under actual conditions using bananas as the drying sample.

Application of data science in the prediction of solar energy for the Amazon basin: a study case
Data science with machine-learning tools predicts the solar incidence in four cities in Amazonas state, Brazil, using data from NASA satellites for the period of 2013–22. The lack of data from ground stations makes satellite data valuable in the economic assessment of solar energy in the Amazon basin.
Bi-objective optimal active and reactive power flow management in grid-connected AC/DC hybrid microgrids using metaheuristic–PSO
Optimization of power flow management in a hybrid AC/DC microgrid is modeled as an energy management system driven by particle swarm optimization. The proposed energy management system has dual objectives: minimizing costs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Benefit allocation of electricity–gas–heat–hydrogen integrated energy system based on Shapley value
The Shapley value method is applied for benefit allocation in an integrated energy system with electricity, gas, heat and hydrogen loads. The cooperative mode enhances the economic benefits of the system as a whole and, individually, and provides a useful reference for the allocation of benefits of integrated energy systems.
Assessment of the carbon emissions reduction potential in Thailand’s power sector with high penetration of variable renewable energy sources and electric vehicles in the year 2030
Thailand’s power sector is modelled using PLEXOS software to find the impact of high penetration of variable renewable energy and EV charging loads for the projected year 2030. A demand–response and energy storage system solution approach with carbon pricing is proposed.
