Abstract

Introduction

We sought to determine if an online continuing medical education (CME) activity could improve knowledge and confidence of primary care physicians (PCPs) and endocrinologists (endos) related to hyperglycemia associated with cushing disease (CD) and acromegaly.

Methods

The effect of an online, 30-minute, CME-certified roundtable discussion among 3 faculty was analyzed to determine efficacy. The activity posted April 29, 2021, and data were collected through July 7, 2021.

Results

Overall, 51% of PCP learners and 55% of endo learners improved their knowledge.

Conclusions

This study demonstrates the success of an online, 30-minute roundtable discussion on improving knowledge and confidence regarding hyperglycemia associated with CD or acromegaly, with gaps identified for future education.
