ABSTRACT
The serum dopamine-β-hydroxylase (DBH) activity determined by the sensitive enzymatic assay method of Axelrod et al. was elevated in hypothyroidism, and decreased in hyperthyroidism. A very low level of DBH was observed in one case of thyroid crisis, and the level gradually rose parallel to the improvement of clinical symptoms. Serum DBH activity was inversely correlated with T3, T4 and T3-resin sponge intake.
