ABSTRACT
Injection into the rabbit of a highly purified human chorionic gonadotropin preparation evoked production of an antiserum that neutralized hormonal (biologic) activity of the preparation and produced a visible precipitin reaction in vitro. Immunoelectrophoretic analysis demonstrated the heterogeneity of the purified gonadotropin preparations. The quantitative estimation of HCG in a mixture of HCG and HMG has been achieved by the use of immunologic inhibition of the HMG in the mixture and a subsequent bio-assay of the HCG.
