The article by Jamilian and Asemi reported that the subjects in their study (1) were recruited from December 2015 to February 2016. The stated start date for recruitment is similar to what they reported in the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials. The subjects were treated for a total of 12 weeks. If the last subject was recruited on 1 February 2016, then the earliest date that the authors would have been able to start evaluating the data would have been 25 April 2016. However, the paper was received by the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism on 28 March 2016. This is not the first instance in which these authors have submitted a paper before it was apparently possible to have completed the study (2).
