Editor's Highlight: This study demonstrated that hepatobiliary toxicity could be characterized in a living animal noninvasively by 31P magnetic resonance spectroscopy. These results demonstrate the feasibility of following toxicity biomarkers longitudinally in the same animal, resulting in better studies that can associate biomarkers with various liver injury patterns while reducing the number of animals needed in toxicology studies.
