In the original article there were two statistical errors relating to the risk of stroke that were missed at proof reading stage. These appeared in two places and have now been corrected as follows:

1. Results section within the abstract - corrected to ``users had 1.34 times or 13.4% higher risk of fatal stroke....''.

2. Discussion paragraph- corrected to ``Our analysis revealed 1.35 times or 13.5% higher risk of stroke (including both fatal and nonfatal) in users of chewing tobacco....''.
