We have developed a disposable MEMS microchannel device (K-kit) to hold liquid samples for TEM observation 1–3 . This allows for direct observations of particle size, shape and most importantly, the state of aggregation and agglomerations in liquid form. Nanoparticles in an image can be quantitatively analysed yielding detailed statistical distribution of morphological measurements not possible from lump sum methods such as DLS. Nanoparticles in a liquid would interact with electron beam in interesting ways. For example, particles outside of a beam can be drawn to where the electron beam illuminates. New findings and observations will be presented in the poster.
