Tumor-infiltrating γδ T cells as targets of immune checkpoint blockade in melanoma
Marta Di Simone and others
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Volume 115, Issue 4, April 2024, Pages 760–770, https://doi.org/10.1093/jleuko/qiae023
A comprehensive analysis exploring the intricate correlation between γδ T cells and immune checkpoint receptors in melanoma is the focus of this study. Our findings provide a solid foundation for further exploration, suggesting the strategic combination of adoptive transfer or in vivo activation of γδ T cells with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy as a compelling approach to enhance anti-tumor responses.
High-dimensional in situ proteomics imaging to assess γδ T cells in spatial biology
Nicola Herold and others
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Volume 115, Issue 4, April 2024, Pages 750–759, https://doi.org/10.1093/jleuko/qiad167
Innate- and adaptive-like γδ T cell subsets, their phenotypic profile and neighborhood composition can be characterized by high-dimensional imaging.
Reprogramming of human γδ T cells by expression of an anti-CD19 TCR fusion construct (εTRuC) to enhance tumor killing
Claudia Juraske and others
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Volume 115, Issue 2, February 2024, Pages 293–305, https://doi.org/10.1093/jleuko/qiad128
The generation and use of εTRuC γδ T cells is a new proof of concept for cancer immunotherapy.

Zheng Song and others
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Volume 114, Issue 6, December 2023, Pages 630–638, https://doi.org/10.1093/jleuko/qiad069
We propose an analysis method, based on T cell receptor gene module scores, to identify γδ T cells from 5′-end single-cell RNA sequencing datasets.
The role of γδ T cells in the immunopathogenesis of inflammatory diseases: from basic biology to therapeutic targeting
Brian Bernal-Alferes and others
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, Volume 114, Issue 6, December 2023, Pages 557–570, https://doi.org/10.1093/jleuko/qiad046
