The influenza A(H3N2) variant (H3N2v) viruses emerged in 2013 acquired a single substitution in hemagglutinin (N145K). Our study demonstrated that priming through prior exposures to seasonal H3N2 antigenic clusters were associated with the age-related seroprevalence to 2012 (145N) and 2013 (145K) H3N2v viruses.
