The Policy Board of the Journal of Consumer Research is pleased to announce that Professor Richard J. Lutz has agreed to serve a second term as Special Guest Editor under the journal's editor submission policy which outlines special review procedures for editor submissions.
Manuscripts authored or coauthored by JCR editors may be submitted for review or publication during the term of the editor. However, the special guest editor oversees any submission on which a current editor is an author. The special guest editor has sole responsibility for the entire review process, including the final decision on the manuscript. In the event there is a conflict of interest between a submitting author and the special guest editor, the president of the Policy Board will appoint a different guest editor (typically a former JCR editor) to handle the manuscript. Additional details are provided in the journal's conflict of interest policy.
Professor Lutz is the J.C. Penney Professor of Marketing in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida. He served with distinction as editor of JCR from 1987 to 1990 and is a long-term member of the JCR Editorial Review Board; a past president of the Association for Consumer Research and the JCR Policy Board; a Fellow of the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research, and the Society for Consumer Psychology; and one of the most respected scholars in our field.
