Lay Summary
This is the first case report of cytomegalovirus colitis following viral reactivation during pregnancy in a patient hospitalized for acute severe ulcerative colitis and treated with ganciclovir despite its teratogenic risk given her corticosteroid-refractory nature, with favorable outcomes after 3 years.
