Abstract

As the number of children in need of organ transplants increases as a result of medical advances, so does the demand for organs that can be used in transplantation. In the face of compelling medical need, prospective donors as well as prospective recipients are subject to strong pressures. Social workers can play a large role in protecting the rights and interests of both groups of young clients.
