The movement patterns of breeding saker falcons in the Mongoilian steppe are intricately linked to prey availability in their nesting areas. During the breeding season, male sakers tend to forage closer to the nest and have smaller home ranges when prey is abundant. This behavior likely conserves energy while facilitating successful chick provisioning. In contrast, when prey densities are low, males tend to travel greater distances and occupy larger home ranges. However, there was no significant relationship between female home range size and prey availability. This difference in ranging behavior underscores the distinct roles of female and male sakers in raising their nestlings. Males primarily focus on hunting and providing food to their young and mate, while females dedicate more time to brooding. See Bold et al. , Pp. 810–820, Photo by Batbayar Bold.
