Fellow’s Corner Articles

The Fellow’s Corner is a dedicated section of Crohn’s & Colitis 360 aimed to support trainees and Early Career Researchers by amplifying their voices in the IBD space.

In each quarterly issue of this journal, the Fellow’s Corner will feature two articles:

  • A training pearl, written by an experienced faculty member, aimed to help fellows as they advance through their training. Topics may vary from clinical skill development, medical education, scholarly productivity, and career development.
  • An original article with a fellow as the first author. A wide range of article types will be accepted for review, including original research articles, commentaries or editorials addressing topics in clinical care, research, health policy, advocacy, or training. All submissions will be peer reviewed. Original research articles, if accepted, may be eligible for a waiver of the typical publication fee.

Crohn’s & Colitis 360 Journal Editorial Fellowship

This program is designed for gastroenterology (GI) or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) fellows to work alongside Associate Editors  of the Crohn’s & Colitis 360 journal to learn the peer review, editing and publishing process of scientific manuscripts over a one-year fellowship program. Editorial fellows get a hands-on and immersive experience into how a research manuscript is handled, from submission to final decision. This will include the opportunity to critically review manuscripts with the guidance of assigned Associate Editors who will serve as their mentors.

Who are our Editorial Fellows?

Our Editorial Fellowship accepts qualified 2nd and 3rd year GI fellows as well as advanced IBD fellows.

What is the Editorial Fellowship's timeframe?

The editorial fellowship will begin in February of each year and continue through January of the following year.

What are the benefits?

Benefits of the fellowship include:

  • Obtain insight into the peer review process
  • Learn the roles of editor, reviewer, and publisher to gain a broad understanding of the overall scientific publishing process
  • Learn how to recognize the characteristics of well-conducted research and scientific writing that make a manuscript worthy of publication
  • Learn how to detect flaws in the scientific writing style, study design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation that compromise the quality of research and lead to manuscript rejection
  • Work closely with assigned Crohn’s & Colitis 360 Associate Editors and network with the entire Crohn’s & Colitis 360 editorial team
  • Have the opportunity to publish in Crohn’s & Colitis 360

How do I apply?
