Abstract
colony. It will never be possible to realize the original political concept, the new idea of man which is the only thing which can come to its support.[... ]
It is this new image of man which is essential.[... ] The single party, the secret police, the public displays of Caesarism, even the presence of a Fuhrer are not necessarily attributes of fascism, let alone the reactionary thrust of political alliances.[... ] The famous fascist methods are constantly revised and will continue to be revised. More important than the mechanisms is the idea which fascism has created for itself of man and freedom.[... ]
It was Lenin who prophesied that fascism would be the last form which societies would adopt in order to survive so as not to capitulate to communist dictatorship. If the West has no more strength left, if it disappears like an old man who is drowning, then we can do nothing for it.
