Abstract
This chapter focuses on the assessment of schizophrenia. It begins with a brief description of schizophrenia, including diagnosis, clinical presentation and associated features, epidemiology, and etiology. This is followed by discussion ofthe purposes of assessment, and then consideration of specific instruments for assessing diagnosis and specific domains of functioning commonly impaired in schizophrenia.
