Abstract
This chapter discusses the activities, cognitive development, and learning progress of Ricky when he was between 33–34 months old. The toddler started going to preschool, which offers major challenges and opportunities for acquiring new skills and exercising emotional maturity. The transition to school was easy for Ricky because he loved being with other children and the separation from his parents did not bother him much because he had spent many overnights away from them. At this stage, Ricky started using a variety of devices for learning language and he tried to organize his lexicon in fairly sophisticated, abstract ways.
