Two of them are translated from languages other than English, and two are wide-ranging edited collections. The chapter is divided into five sections: 1. Nicole Brenez, On the Figure in General and the Body in Particular: Figurative Invention in Cinema, trans. by Ted Fendt; 2. Shiguéhiko Hasumi, Directed by Yasujirō Ozu, trans. by Ryan Cook; 3. Craig Fox and Britt Harrison, eds., Philosophy of Film Without Theory; 4. Julian Hanich and Martin P. Rossouw, eds., What Film Is Good For: On the Values of Spectatorship; and 5. Conclusion.
