Difference between the rotation-subtracted velocity dispersion σ_GC and the rotation-included velocity dispersion v_GC without any colour split. The filled points and empty squares are the data from the SLUGGS survey and the literature, respectively. The two quantities are generally consistent with each other, but they disagree by up to ∼40 km s⁻¹ in systems with significant rotation.
