The mass of the most-massive star versus the mean mass of the so-called ‘superclusters’ constructed as in Selman & Melnick (2008). It shows whether or not the observed clusters of higher masses can be made by adding up large numbers of low-mass clusters. The obvious trend of increasing m_max with <M_ecl> is a clear indication against such a conclusion.
