Endothelial junctional adhesion molecule-A is required for reovirus bloodstream spread. Newborn (2–3 days) mice were inoculated perorally with reovirus strain T1L at 1000 PFU per mouse. At 4, 8, and 12 days post-inoculation, intestine, heart, and brain were excised, and blood was collected into an equal volume of Alsever's solution for determination of viral titer by plaque assay. Results are presented as mean viral titer. Error bars indicate standard deviation. For each time point and mouse strain, 3 to 13 mice were used.
