Preprocessing steps were performed to acquire LiDAR-derived tree parameters. (A) An individual segmented tree PCD was used as input. (B) The tree PCD was classified using the LeWoS algorithm (D. Wang et al., 2020) into woody components (brown) and soft components (green). (C) The soft components were discarded. (D) The PCD was manually corrected, removing wrongly classified soft components and noise in the PCD. (E) A QSM (Raumonen et al., 2013) was fitted for the manually corrected PCD.
