EIS observations of AR 10978 at the limb. The simultaneous observation of emission lines formed over a wide range of ionization stages provides detailed information on the temperatures and density in the million-degree corona. Observations began on 2007 December 18 at 00:10 UT. The FOV was approximately 310″ × 384″ and the exposure time at each position was 40 s. (Color online)
