Three-dimensional partial dependence plots for the strongest interactions between predictors of explosive breeding and calling in A spurrelli, from BRT. (a) The effect of DOY on breeding was evident only when rainfall during the previous 24 h was high and, across DOY, breeding was more likely when rainfall was high. (b) Mean humidity during the previous 24 h had a large effect on the probability of calling, regardless of days since full moon (DFM), but the effect of DFM on calling was only large when RH was particularly high (>~96%). All variables except those graphed are held at their means.
