Ground velocity waveforms of the vertical component of seismometers from the Hunga volcanic eruption. Waveforms are filtered with a 4th order Butterworth bandpass between 0.02 and 0.06 Hz and corrected for geometrical spreading of surface waves. Blue, orange and red indicate the theoretical arrival times of P (circles), S (triangles) and Rayleigh waves (lines) for the events at 04:01, 04:15 and 04:18 UTC, respectively (see Table 2). Arrival times of body waves are based on the AK-135 structural model. The assumed propagation velocity for Rayleigh waves is 3680 m s−1.
