Total magnitude differential number counts for galaxies detected in the Z, Y, J, H and K_s bands in the VIDEO-XMM3 field. Filled red circles and solid red line show the number counts uncorrected for completeness and the red dashed line shows the completeness corrected source counts using the values from Table 3. The Poisson uncertainties are smaller than the symbol size. The stellar number counts, separated as discussed in Section 7.5 are also shown as green stars. Also shown are the number counts from other studies in the filters available, these are as follows: CFHT-WIRDS (inverted filled blue triangles; Bielby et al. 2012), the UKIDSS-DXS (black diamonds; Kim et al. 2011) and the UltraVISTA (open black squares; McCracken et al. 2012), showing excellent agreement.
