aDetermined using the Edinburgh Inventory (Oldfield, 1971): scores >0 indicate right-handedness. A score of 100 indicates strong right-handedness. bAssessed using the Hollingshead scale (Hollingshead, 1957). Higher scores indicate lower educational and/or occupational status. cHigher scores indicate strong ALTs. A four-point AQ scoring system was used, so that each item was scored on a scale ranging from 0 to 3. Thus, the total score calculated from this system can range from 0 to 150, whereas scores from the original dichotomous version range from 0 to 50.
