Catapult of a parakeet
The blue-winged parakeet, also known as the Malabar parakeet (Psittacula columboides) is a species of parrots that are typically spotted in the Western Ghats region of South India. They can be seen flying in flocks making screeching calls in search of food along the plantations and fields adjoining the forests. These parakeets have a long tail with yellowish tip and dark blue wings. Males have a red beak while females have blackish grey beak. This image was taken in the Western Ghats region of Karnataka, India. The bird which was perched on a twig, was alerted by the camera clicks causing it to catapult and flew away while still provided an opportunity for this freeze. Blurred background of the forests and the fields add a magical touch to the image.
