Progressive lattice misorientation in clinopyroxene revealed by forescattered electron imaging. Sample is a synthetic Martian basalt cooled from the liquidus at 72°C/h. Image (c. 290 micrometer wide) collected on a Zeiss Gemini 450 SEM with Oxford Symmetry detector by Maartje Hamers and Julia Hammer at Utrecht University's Electron Microscopy Centre.
