Abstract
The action spectrum for the inhibition of red-light-induced germination of spores in the fern Adiantum capillus-veneris was determined between 250 and 500 nm using the Okazaki large spectrograph. When monochromatic lights were given after red-light irradiation, two prominent peaks for inhibition of spore germination were observed at 275 and 440 nm and a minor peak at ca. 390 nm.
