Abstract
The relations of three carbon-assimilating enzymes in maize to biomass productivity were studied. There was no significant correlation between biomass and the amount of fraction I protein (RuBP carboxylase/oxygenase protein). In contrast, both the activities of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase and pyruvate,P1 dikinase were highly correlated to the biomass.
