Abstract
Both indole-3-acetamide (IAM) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) were identified in extracts of the hypocotyls of Japanese cherry by GC/MS. Exogenous IAA and IAM promoted the elongation of segments of these hypocotyls and the effect of IAA applied together with IAM was the same as that of IAA alone.
