Abstract
Uniformly 14C-labeIled glucose was fed to synchronously growing Chlorella cells in the dark or in light. The rate of 14C-incorporation into hemicellulose showed two maxima one in the growth phase and one in the reproductive phase. Significant 14Cincorporation into a “rigid wall” was found only in the reproductive phase.
