Whether you are an individual or the administrator of an institution, to activate a code or subscription number that you’ve been sent from Oxford University Press (OUP), been given by your institution, or obtained from a book you've purchased, you will need to sign into your Oxford Academic account.

Please note, once you have activated your code through your Oxford Academic account, you will need to navigate back to the homepage of the product your code provides access to (if the content isn’t available on Oxford Academic).

  1. Click on the account icon in the top right of any page on the site:Account Icon

  2. Either select ‘Sign in’ under ‘Personal account’ or “Sign in as administrator”, depending on if you are an individual or the administrator of an institution. For first-time users, you will be prompted to register an account first.sign in screenshot

  6. To access your content, you will need to navigate back to the homepage of the product you now have access to (if the content isn’t available on Oxford Academic).

  7. For institutional customers, after activation you can proceed with setting up your institutional account, including setting your institution name, Shibboleth, and other credentials. More help is available for institutional account management.

We hope you enjoy your subscription.

You will not need your activation code once your account has been set up. On subsequent logins you will just need your username and password (unless authenticating by IP, Open Athens, Shibboleth, or other remote access options), which you enter on the homepage of the website you have access to. Your access code can only be redeemed once and is not transferable.
