There was an error in the preparation of Figure 1A, panel (i). The Western blot images showing efficient knockdown of eIF3e in U251 and LN18 cells were accidentally duplicated from panel (ii).
The authors sincerely apologize for the error and provide a revised Figure 1A where the eIF3e blots in panel (i) have been replaced with the correct images. The Supplementary Data shows images of the entire blots as supporting data. A summary figure is also provided below.
This correction does not affect the results, discussion and conclusions presented in the article. These details have been corrected only in this correction notice to preserve the published version of record.
New Figure 1A.

Summary Figure. Raw data of each blot from Figure 1A are presented in separate panels. The first two rows of the table show the western blots from Fig. 1A (i) analysing protein levels in U251 or LN18 cell lines treated with control (siScr) and eIF3e (si3e) siRNAs, with or without a proteasome inhibitor treatment (MG132). The two last rows of the table show the western blots from Fig. 1A (ii) analysing protein levels in U251 or LN18 cell lines treated with control (siScr) and eIF3e (si3e) siRNAs, with or without a hypoxia mimetic treatment (CoCl2). The analysed proteins are depicted in the first column of the table and the corresponding bands in the blots are shown with coloured arrows. Non-specific bands revealed with some antibodies are shown with blue arrows.
