chelsea burns, Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the University of Texas at Austin, studies Latin American modernisms as well as bluegrass and country music. Her research focuses on analysis in context and the ethics of analysis as it relates to marginalized repertories. Recent articles have appeared in Music Theory Online and Journal of Popular Music Studies.

simon needle is an independent scholar and educator in Atlanta, Georgia. His writings, including The Function of Flow, a study of meter and accented rhyme placement in hip-hop music, focus on analyses of popular music. His current research involves marrying the arranging styles of Western art music to digital production technology for multimedia scoring and popular music production.

samuel ng is Associate Professor of Music Theory at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati. His publications have appeared in Indiana Theory Review, Intégral, Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, Music Theory Online, Music Theory Spectrum, and Theory and Practice. He is a contributor to the award-winning, multi-author collection of essays, Brahms and the Shaping of Time. His current research interests include tonal phrase rhythm and analysis of contemporary Christian worship songs.
