Matthew Arndt, Associate Professor of Music Theory at the University of Iowa, holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He primarily studies the application of insights from the history of music theory to music theory pedagogy, analysis, and criticism. He also studies technical aspects of sacred music from the Republic of Georgia. He is the author of The Musical Thought and Spiritual Lives of Heinrich Schenker and Arnold Schoenberg (Routledge, 2018).
Nick Didkovsky is a guitarist, composer, and programmer. He founded the rock band Doctor Nerve in 1983, the metal band Vomit Fist in 2013, and is a member of the Fred Frith Guitar Quartet. He has composed for Bang On A Can All-Stars, Meridian Arts Ensemble, ETHEL, and others. His compositions and guitar work appear on over 50 records. Album credits include Alice Cooper “Paranormal.” Didkovsky created Java Music Specification Language with computer music pioneer Phil Burk and MaxScore with composer Georg Hajdu.
