Erratum: Quantifying the (X/peanut)-shaped structure in edge-on disc galaxies: length, strength, and nested peanuts

This is an erratum to the paper by Ciambur & Graham (2016, MNRAS, 459, 1276) titled “Quantifying the (X/Peanut)-Shaped Structure in Edge-on Disc Galaxies: Length, Strength, and Nested Peanuts”.

The horizontal-axis label for Figure 12 should read R_{Π, max} rather than R_{Π, max}sin (α).

The radial length R_{Π, max} (=l_{Π, max}sin (α)) corresponds to the isophote where the 6^th-order Fourier cosine term — which we employ as a tracer of the (X/peanut)-shaped structure’s isophotal signature — is a maximum.

This typographical error does not affect in any way the results or conclusions of the article.
