Abstract
We present a relativistic generalization of the problem of tidal disruption of a star deeply plunging within the Roche radius of a massive Schwarzschild black hole, on the basis of the affine star model developed by Carter & Luminet in a Newtonian context. We show that new specific relativistic effects occur. In particular, tidal compression acting on the direction orthogonal to the orbital plane of the star may induce formation of many successive strong squeezings of the star when the periastron of its orbit is sufficiently close to the horizon of the black hole. Illustrative numerical results are displayed in last section.
