Jeffrey Abt is Professor Emeritus at Wayne State University. His books include American Egyptologist: The Life of James Henry Breasted and the Creation of His Oriental Institute (University of Chicago Press, 2012); Valuing Detroit’s Art Museum: A History of Fiscal Abandonment and Rescue (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017); and Too Jewish or Not Jewish Enough: Ritual Objects and Avant-Garde Art at the Jewish Museum of New York (forthcoming, Berghahn).
Tal Elmaliach is a Faculty Member in the Department of Jewish History at the University of Haifa. His most recent book is Hakibbutz Ha’artzi: Mapam, and the Demise of the Israeli Labor Movement (Syracuse University Press, 2019). His articles have appeared in leading international journals, including Jewish Social Studies, Israel Studies, and American Jewish History.
