Earlier this year, our society's journal reached a major and much-anticipated milestone—Acceptance for Indexing by MEDLINE. This will provide greater discoverability and dissemination of content published by authors in the journal. Citations dating back to Volume 1 are searchable via PubMed, and content published starting in Volume 4 also includes the US National Library of Medicine's Medical Subject Headings (MeSH).
The Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (JPIDS) was launched in 2012 and has been incredibly successful in representing the spectrum of scientific and clinical work engaging pediatric infectious diseases physicians and scientists today, as well as the areas of future growth in the field. I want to thank all of those who have made JPIDS successful including the leadership of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, the editorial board, the authors who have chosen to submit their work to JPIDS , and all the readers. A special thanks to my Associate Editors for their incredible dedication to reviewing and managing manuscripts, participating in the weekly phone calls to discuss manuscripts, and supporting me throughout the past 4 years.
I believe this milestone is just the beginning for our journal. Over the next year, we hope to provide you with exciting new developments that will position our journal as the premier journal in our field.
