Homage to Dr. George Gerbner and Cultivation

Volume 71, Issue 4 (August 2021) Virtual Issue

Dr. George Gerbner, best known for development of the Cultivation framework, served as Journal of Communication’s Editor-in-Chief from 1974 through 1991.  The lead article for Volume 71, Issue 4 is a meta-analysis of five decades of cultivation research, a work particularly well suited to the history of Journal of Communication. Building on this meta-analysis, this virtual special issue pays homage to the work of George Gerbner and the research activities he has sparked over the last half century:
