Abstract
In the 1 December 2006 issue of the Journal, in the article by Anderson and Main (Anderson JF, Main AJ. Importance of vertical and horizontal transmission of west Nile virus by Culex pipiens in the northeastern United States. J Infect Dis 2006; 194:1577–9), there is an error in the first sentence of the last paragraph of the Results section. The phrase “an infected F1 of” should be between “which” and “parent,” so that the corrected sentence is “The hamster on which an infected F1 of parent T676 fed died 8 days after the mosquito bite.” The publisher regrets this error.
