Abstract
In the November 1994 issue of JID, there is a section on human papillomavirus consisting of an editorial and five articles. The editorial and each paper cite the others, but in the Reference lists, the page numbers are wrong due to an editorial error. Following are the correct citations:
Galloway DA. Editorial: navigating the descent into papillomavirus hell. J Infect Dis 1994; 170:1075–6.
Bernard HU, Chan SY, Manos MM, et al. Identification and assessment of known and novel human papillomaviruses by polymerase chain reaction amplification, restriction fragment length polymorphisms, nucleotide sequence, and phylogenetic algorithms. J Infect Dis 1994; 170:1077–85.
Also, in the article by Bernard et al. (Bernard HU, Chan SY, Manos MM, et al. Identification and assessment of known and novel human papillomaviruses by polymerase chain reaction amplification, restriction fragment length polymorphisms, nucleotide sequence, and phylogenetic algorithms. J Infect Dis 1994; 170: 1077–85), in the first line of the text, “casually” should be “causally”:
Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are causally involved in the etiology of neoplastic lesions of cutaneous and mucosal epithelia [1].
