christopher bartel is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Appalachian State University. He received a B.M. from Berklee College of Music, an M.A. from the University of Bristol, and a Ph.D. from King's College, London. He is currently pursuing a project examining the viability of empirical accounts of the aesthetics of music.

noël carroll is Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. His most recent books include On Criticism (Routledge, 2009), Art in Three Dimensions (Oxford University Press, 2010), and Living in an Artworld (Evanston, 2012).

eileen john is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. She taught previously at the University of Louisville. She is the author of articles on the cognitive and philosophical roles of literature and on artistic and ethical value. She also coedited the Blackwell anthology Philosophy of Literature (2004).

matthew strohl has a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. He is currently Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Montana. He works primarily in ancient philosophy and aesthetics.
