sondra bacharach is Senior Lecturer at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and has interests in the philosophy of art and aesthetics. She recently received a Marsden grant with Deborah Tollefsen (University of Memphis) from the Royal Society of New Zealand on understanding collaboratively produced art.
jennifer kirchmyer dobe has a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently Visiting Assistant Professor at Grinnell College and teaches courses in aesthetics, modern philosophy, and ethics.
g. r. f. “john” ferrari is Professor of Classics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has taught since 1988. He has published books on Plato and articles on Plato and Aristotle, as well as on rhetoric and aesthetics in archaic and classical Greece. It is from this work in the areas of rhetoric and aesthetics, ultimately, that his current research project derives, which employs Gricean ideas in order to focus on types of human interaction that might seem to amount to communication, but do not quite do so.
