Abstract
The paper discusses the Green's function method of the Stokes flow equation in the presence of a slip wall. The far field of the Green's function is obtained and interpreted in terms of singularities. It is found that the flux for the stokeslet near a slip wall is finite and has a form similar to the one corresponding to the no-slip condition. The reciprocity formula of this Green's function is proved for a more general boundary shape. The singularity method is then developed for the motion of a solid sphere near a plane surface with slip condition on the surface. The results are compared with exact solutions.
