Abstract
A two-point boundary value problem is solved with the collocation method using piecewise Hermite polynomials. Polynomials of the same form are then used to interpolate the analytical solution of the differential equation. Using this interpolation error, an estimate of the error in the collocation approximation is calculated. The behaviour of the method is illustrated by linear and non-linear numerical examples.
