Post-publication, the senior author, Janet Neisewander, identified a discrepancy with the drug used for self-administration, methamphetamine, in this study and the drug that was approved for use, cocaine, in the Arizona State University (ASU) IACUC-approved protocol. All other procedures were IACUC-approved and no animals experienced additional pain or discomfort because of this error beyond that approved in the original protocol. Also, the doses of methamphetamine that were used have been approved by ASU’s IACUC for other research projects.
